Abstract

Albert S. Pigolkin devoted his life to legal science, having worked at the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation for almost 50 years, 30 years of which he remained the permanent head of one of the leading departments of the Institute — the Department of the theory of lawmaking and systematization of legislation. The works of A. S. Pigolkin on lawmaking, sources of law, typology of normative acts, as well as interpretation of law have received the greatest fame. Despite the ongoing evolution of the theory of law-making and interpretation of law, the ideas formulated by the scientist are still a source of knowledge and give impetus to the further development of modern doctrine.
