Abstract

The climate agenda is gaining momentum both in the international arena and within the country. The challenges posed to humanity in connection with the problem of global warming require the adoption of decisive measures and the transition from declarative statements to special actions. In this regard, public authorities, environmental organizations, and businesses are paying great attention to climate protection projects provided for by the Paris Agreement aimed at reducing or absorbing greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming, and economic measures that stimulate their implementation. However, climate projects are not a new legal instrument. The Kyoto Protocol, which was in force before the Paris Agreement, also contained mechanisms for implementing projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The results of the analysis of the norms forming the institute of climate projects in our country, as well as the problems of their implementation are presented in this article.
